Meta’s infinite interns: the AI takeover of your DMs and your day job

Imagine you’re trying to run a boutique shop, but instead of a stressed-out teenager behind the counter, you have an "infinite team" that speaks 40 languages, never sleeps, and doesn't steal from the register.
That is the pitch for the Meta Business Agent, a new AI tool Zuck is globalizing to handle everything from product recommendations to closing sales in your WhatsApp DMs.
It’s part of a massive June blitz where Meta is basically trying to automate every awkward interaction you have online, from customer service to "authentic" friendship.
The Infinite Intern is Watching Your Metrics
If you’re a creator, Meta just handed you a Creator Assistant. Think of it as a hyper-perceptive intern who lives in your Facebook dashboard.
Instead of staring at a chart of "Engagement Rates" like you’re trying to decode a waiting room coffee’s nutritional label at 2 AM, you can just ask the AI why your last video flopped.
It connects the dots between your timing, your audience’s mood, and whatever weird cultural trend is currently melting the internet.
The catch? It’s free for now, but Meta is already whispering about "paid subscription offerings" coming in the next few months. The first taste is always free.
"Instants" and the Death of the Filter
While the bots are taking over the business side, Meta is also trying to fix the fact that we’ve all become too polished for our own good.
Enter Instants on Instagram. It’s an ephemeral, unedited photo-sharing feature that disappears after 24 hours and doesn't let you upload from your gallery.
It’s Meta’s latest attempt to claw back the "authentic" vibe of 2012 before we all started using filters to look like we’ve actually slept in the last three years.
The Video-First Matrix
Meta’s new data from India is a sobering reality check for anyone still clinging to the written word.
97% of surveyed users in India are consuming video on Meta platforms every single day.
To keep that engine humming, they’re expanding AI Translations for Reels. We’re talking about AI that not only translates your voice but syncs your lips to the new language.
By the time this rolls out in Arabic, French, and Vietnamese, you won't even know if the person you're watching actually speaks the language they’re using to sell you a skincare routine.
The Digital Bouncer
On the darker side of the matrix, Meta teamed up with Microsoft and law enforcement to nuke 1.4 million accounts linked to scam networks in Southeast Asia.
They’re also globalizing 13+ content defaults for teens, essentially acting as a digital bouncer to hide "mature" themes like risky stunts and weight-loss scams.
It’s a lot of "safety" talk, but at the end of the day, it’s about keeping the platform clean enough that you don't feel too guilty about spending four hours a day scrolling.
Whether it’s an AI translating your voice or a bot handling your customer complaints, the message is clear: the robots are here to do the boring stuff so you can spend more time in the feed.
