NVIDIA's computex 2026: fried chicken, 'Claws', and the death of the personal computer

Jensen Huang is currently wandering the night markets of Taipei, handing out signed bowls of "TFC" (Taiwanese Fried Chicken) and telling everyone who will listen that the era of the "claws" has arrived. At Computex 2026, NVIDIA isn't just selling chips anymore; they are pitching a total rewrite of how we use computers.
The vision is simple, if a bit cynical: you don’t want a PC, you want an "AI factory." Huang’s keynote was a blitz of modular infrastructure, starting with the Vera Rubin platform, which is now in full production to support what NVIDIA calls "agentic AI."
The star of the show is Nemotron 3 Ultra, a massive 550-billion-parameter model designed specifically for long-running agents. NVIDIA calls these persistent helpers "claws"—systems that don't just answer a prompt and vanish, but stay active in the background, iterating on tasks and solving problems while you sleep.
According to Huang, "useful AI has arrived," and he’s betting the farm on the idea that every company will soon be powered by these autonomous workers. To make it happen, NVIDIA unveiled the Vera CPU, an 88-core beast designed for agents who, in Huang's words, have "very little patience."
For the average consumer, the shift is landing on your desk via "RTX Spark." These new Windows PCs, built with Microsoft and MediaTek, deliver a staggering 1 petaflop of AI performance. Huang claims this is the first real reinvention of the PC in forty years, turning your laptop into an always-on "personal agent hub" rather than just a tool for browsing the web.
But is it all just corporate PR and fried chicken? Not entirely. NVIDIA’s NemoSkills team just took the top spot on the global Kaggle leaderboard, using their reasoning models to crush a complex Math Olympiad challenge. They even beat out 2,200 other teams by using "long-thinking" models that reason through problems much like a human would.
Of course, with all this synthetic intelligence comes the inevitable flood of fake content. NVIDIA is playing both sides here, also launching a "Synthetic Video Detector" that claims to flag AI-generated footage with 92% accuracy. It's a pragmatic, if grim, acknowledgment of the world they’re helping to build.
Huang’s pitch to investors and countries is even more direct: "compute is revenue." In the age of AI factories, every token generated is a "GDP generator," and if you aren't buying the most efficient architecture, you're essentially leaving money on the table.
In the spirit of clarity. Whether you’re "raising your lobster" (Huang's weird metaphor for a home agent) or building a million-GPU factory, NVIDIA has made it clear that they own the infrastructure of the next decade.
